    hello,

We have allotted dedicated IP to a domain. The domain need to access a remote mysql server to sync data with it, however, remote server allows connection on the basis of IP only.
Here problem is that, whenver we try to connect to remote server from this domain with unique IP, the remote server sees main IP of the server which is shared IP but not the actual IP which we have allotted to this account.

Kindly guide as this is a shared server running Cpanel / whm and assiging dedicated IP has no effect in outbound connections made from this domain.

Though we can access this domain with its ip and its working fine but only problem is that remote server is seeing shared IP (main ip of the server ) instead of the unique IP assigned to that domain.

Can't you simply whitelist the shared server's IP for the remote MySQL machine if that is the case as the connecting access host?

thanks for the reply but we can't do it as remote machine is governed by a Govt. agency and we can't ask them to change again.
    Kindly advice other way around.

MySQL normally runs on the shared IP as that's the IP set in the configuration for the server. You cannot change the IP for MySQL to run for different accounts on the machine, since changing the main IP for MySQL will basically cause all accounts to use that IP.

It might be possible to code the script to use a different outbound IP connection for MySQL, but that would be a scripting issue rather than a MySQL one.

Your best option is to ask them to change it. If you've asked them before to change it, it seems if you explain why it needs to be changed, that it could be changed. This is certainly a better option than possibly breaking MySQL functionality for other accounts to change configuration settings.
