Okay, I'm still kinda new to the whole cPanel skinning thing here... now with that off my chest...

My first skin, was basically a new header with some different color css and I edited the link to the webmail because I changed the way /webmail works....

Anyways.... My Problem:
I thought if I did that skin that nothing would be changed on it on updates because I created a whole new file / skin name. Now the "aging" thing was added to the email section and it shows up as a broken image with a link to a page that doesnt exist... in my skin... ? wtf....

So... Here's what I really want.

I want to make a new skin that I can edit the colors and what not - and the left column display (such as order and eliminate some stuff, and i want to add a section to the bottom for support stuff), but I want all the pages inside the skin to be updated when the X/X2 theme updates but keeps my main page column unchanged and the header and colors the same.

I've been searching on the forums, and found some traces of something that is like a cross-link between the new skin and the x/x2 theme. Basically the new skin uses the X theme page but with the new header image....

OR... Alternative.... I make a totally new skin and it NEVER updates unless I do it manually...

Also... how the F do I open the x.cptheme again? When I extract that stuff I get some errors and I dont get the whole archive...

thanks....

another thing I noticed... my theme in SSH has shortcuts in like /mail to the files... Now I'm thinking those goto the x2 theme to the best of my knowledge, but... when x2 adds new pages... why didn't they add in my skin too? I'd like to have that whole directory mirrored from the updated skin (x2).

I've manually added the aging page and image - so that works fine now.. but.. idk.. just want to build a new skin and do it right...

What you need to do is do it like X2. X2 does it exactly like this: different header and footers but uses the X main files.

So, just copy the X2 dir and edit it instead of starting with X.
