In the future, resellers will be able to configure the default set of favorites which users can then customize to fit their needs.
This would be great to see. I'd love for our customers to have the ability to just click a simple "Add to favorites" link at the top of every page in the cpanel. So if they click that link, they can immediately see this page is added to the favorites text menu.

Regarding the server information,.... In 11.42 Paper Lantern, we put it on the Service Status page and reserved the index sidebar only for account information and usage. Definitely an improvement, in my opinion, to the focus and simplicity of the index page.
Agreed.

We could maybe talk about better homes for individual list-items in that information but I would hesitate to remove information entirely from the interface.
I don't want to remove the information. I want the ability to hide the information that is not relevant to some of our users.

The simplest solution would be to add each line item to the Feature Manager as an option to be hidden or displayed. So when we're editing the features for a Package, we can also choose if we want cpanel version to be displayed or not.

I hope that makes sense?

I like the new icons, the bolder colors make them easier to locate. I would prefer if it could be consolidated to take less space on the screen. Can you eliminate most of the white space. make the icons smaller and have the ability to hide sections. I normally use about 1/3 of the sections, I would like them to appear with all their icons while the other sections just have the header and the ability to open them as needed.

Currently, you can still click the group headers on the index page to collapse/expand the group...you can even drag each section around to get them into the order you prefer as well. I can't promise that this functionality will always be retained...we have big things in mind for where we want to go with the index page...but you can definitely still use it until then.

Whomever designed this needs their head read..

I now need to scroll to do basic things.. I don't know why the current trend is BIG and SPACED out but so many companies are adopting this flat layout and its a massive step backwards.

Why space stuff out so much?
Your icons look like your restricted to a 4 colour palette.
Why do i need to scroll to create an email address? or see the existing addresses? my monitor is freaking huge and I still need to scroll?

Madness.

I also agree, it look there is to much space between icons and blocks, there is no need for that much space, and other reasone is that it would be faster to find some function and not scroll most of the time.

Also when will be available option to at lest change logo?

Hi,

I just found some interesting work (that i like) by googling : Forrst | Cpanel Paper Lantern Design Redux - A post from blazedd
We actually had Jonathan (BlazedD) in for a customer visit a few months go and really enjoyed the insight he gave us into his company and the directions he thinks we should be heading in. He worked up that design notion a week or two after that and we've got it up on our idea board to help guide us in what kinds of aesthetics people like.

I like it.

While it's not the direction I'd like to see the cpanel UI take (I prefer something completely different, like WordPress ui, etc.)... it is definitely better than what exists currently.

I am curious about the look of paper lantern VPS version, not sure if the cPanel logo is intentionally supposed to look like this?
cPanel-VPS-Logo-Odd.JPG

If it's intentional then my opinion is that it looks horrid. If somehow it's an error on my cPanel then fantastic, I hope I can get it fixed.

I've noticed how there are two VPS optimised logos in the directory, the current one in use on my cPanel being "top-logo_vps2.png" and the other "top-logo_vps.png" - which looks a ton better than the current one. Tried to rename the files which worked nicely until midnight when it reverted back to the horrible one.
