Park a domain on top of a subdomain

About 4 years ago, I created a subdomain on my account and it created a directory at:

/home/example/subdomain.example.com

I don't know HOW I actually did that; now I see that cPanel only creates them in the /public_html/ directory, but at the time it didn't.

Now I would like to park a different domain on top of that subdomain. I thought I could do it using Addon Domain, but no, that only lets me park it to a directory within /public_html/.

Any suggestions on how I might park this domain on top of the subdomain that's not in the /public_html/ directory, without changing the subdomain ?

Hey there! There is an option in WHM >> Tweak Settings that lets you enable or disable that behavior:

Restrict document roots to public_html

If you want to be able to create those type of document roots you'll want to set this feature to "Off"

That being said, there still is not a way to setup an Alias to a subdomain using the cPanel interface. For that work, you'd want to visit WHM >> Park a Domain, which will allow you to use the sub/addon domains as an alias destination.

Let me know if that helps!

Thanks, @cPRex! I see the subdomains in the WHM list now, so I think that'll work. I overlooked them before, I guess I would have expected them to be grouped with the domain instead of alphabetical (which, in retrospect, is pretty stupid on my part).
