    I am a recent convert from IIS, so please help me see my way here. I have a hosted reseller account that uses cPanel and WHM.

    My goal is to have one main website (mymainsite.com). I would prefer this to be my actual reseller account domain.

    I want to point multiple domains to this one site:
    client1.com => mymainsite.com
    client2.com => mymainsite.com
    etc...

    However I want to still be able to maintain client email domains - @client1.com, @client2.com, etc.

    So my problem is twofold.

    1. I cannot seem to get anything to point to anything. (my host acknowledges this and is looking into it). Should I be using cPanel or WHM to manage the pointing?

    2. How do I point domains while still maintaining the email domain?

    TIA

    Log into the control panel to manage your mainsite.com and use the domain pointer (park) feature. This will make the parked domains show the same content as mainsite.com

    Once you've done this, you also have email functionality. Simply go to the mail section, add a POP and you will see a drop down list for the domains you can add POP/forwarders, etc. for.

    Thanks, but that isn't working with my host.

    Any suggestions on a good reseller hosting company....

    I may be alittle biased, but try mine =P Http://www.b12.org . We also do custom plans. Make us an offer, let us know what you want, what you are looking for, and if you want a managed solution, or an "on your own" solution, as we do both at the request of our clients.

    wdglide, how did you make out with this problem?

    The solution mentioned by
    ciphervendor (using Parked Domains) should have worked. I would also agree with you, that any Hoster that cannot get that to work is not worth Hosting with.

    Good luck with your new host.

    I presume you didn't follow on the advice given to you on the other thread you opened about the same subject?

    You were advised to ask your host to reassign your main domain (where you want to park other domains on top of) to your reseller account. Without that reassignment the main domain will not show up in either the DNS list or the Park/Point a Domain list in WHM.

    Actually I did ask. I also gave him the link to that post.

    Sorry for the dbl post on this topic, but I wanted a clean, "how's this supposed to be done" as opposed to "whats wrong here"

    I'm still not sure if I have it down yet, but I thought I'd start fresh with a new host.

    Whoever your are going with, I'd say make sure your new host is willing to set up and assign your main domain to your reseller account. Otherwise you will still have the same problem. Good luck. :)

    heh, glad to hear that solved your prob, but sometimes just switching hosts just carries over the problem until you can get someone who wants to help you fix it.
