    I'm a relatively new/inexperienced cPanel user. For our small company we recently migrated to a VPS account with Hostgator using WHM + cPanel. We have a main web site for our company (/http://www.company.com let's say) with a cPanel account created through WHM. We also set up a second account for one of our software products using a different domain (/www.product1.com let's say). So now we have the following:

    (/www.)?company.com -> main company website
    (/www.)?product1.com -> product-specific site

    We'd also like to have a subdomain URL available for product1 such that (/www.)?product1.company.com is points to the product-specific site. This we've accomplished by creating a subdomain for product1 in the company.com account and then creating a redirect for product1.company.com. While this is likely fine, ideally we'd like users who access the product site via the subdomain URL (product1.company.com) will see this as the domain in their browser rather than seeing they've been redirected to product1.com. It appears we could do this via the product1.com cPanel account EXCEPT that cPanel will not permit this since company.com is already associated with the main company account. Is there any way to circumvent this limitation and achieve the behavior desired (product1.company.com redirecting but remaining in the browser window). I think this is commonly called domain masking.

    Thanks for your help folks!

    Best,

    Jamey

    Hello :)

    In "WHM Home » Server Configuration » Tweak Settings", under the "Domains" tab, you could temporarily enable the following options if necessary:

    "Allow domain parking across accounts"

    This would allow you to add the subdomain as a parked domain name on the account with the content you want visible.

    Thank you.

    Thank you so much cPanelMichael. That works and, since the entire VPS server is dedicated to us for our company, I'm not concerned with leaving that setting enabled. We'll likely have several additional "accounts" for companion sites which we'll want to alias in this way so this should be fine.
