Password protected folders don't show

Hi. I've got a strange problem with one of my servers in that, since I updated apache, files in password protected folders won't show, the viewer just gets "this page cannot be displayed...". This happens on every account, on any browser. I've tried updating apache again but it didn't help. Has anyone had a similar problem before?
