I password protected my blog and when I go to the blog, it requires the user name and password be entered twice to get through. Obviously, I would prefer this only need to happen once. DOes anyone have any clues why its not working with the first try?

try it with and without www and with and without the last slash at the very end. I believe it's a redirect on the second go.

if you figure out where it exactally ends up after the redirect ..you can just use that link instead.

put a slash at the end and see what happens

I have had the same problem.

I have a online php calendar which hold
    company events.

So I created a protected directory!,
which will protect everything under it!

    /calendar

    ok!,

    I put in /calendar
which will take me to the index as
set!, ok!. I put in my set username
    and password

I click something that is another level
    deeper like calendar/submit/

it will require me to resubmit the username
    and password again with .htaccess!

I dont get it!, I just put up with it!
