Is it possible to pull out password for user in cPanel when logged in as root, or password for root? In any way, using cgi/php/cp tags ?

I'm already successfully pulling user password when authenticated as user, so I can use it for remote calls with xml (its bit twisted example, but I try to avoid livephp, and keep my logic in external, encrypted file), but i'd like to do the same when logged in as root/reseller

    Hi Kris,

I'm pretty sure that the user's password is not available for extraction (the environment) if you're using the root/reseller login override.

Unfortunately no, the root/reseller password is not available in the environment of the cPanel process when logged into cPanel with root/reseller override.

More specifically, when a root or reseller logs into a cpanel account, we detect that within cpsrvd.pl and change the environment variable before the cpanel process is executed. This is why some parts of cPanel do break when accessed via root/reseller (see: phpMyAdmin)
