I purchased a cPanel-managed shared host and did not receive any login credentials for the cPanel. I issued a password reset on the cPanel login page and entered the registered email address correctly. However, this email address did not receive any email.
Not sure how to diagnose and work around this. Some potential culprits: I set up MX records pointing to a different mail host. I also deleted the mail.mydomain.blah CNAME record.
