Hello,
When creating a new email account, we have an option in cPanel to send an email to set a password by the user.

"Send login link to alternate email address. "
" The system will send an email with a password reset link. This will allow the user to choose a password. "

Do we have an option to do the same for existing email account users when they forgot the password and need a new password?
Or any alternative better option for e-mail account holders to generate a new password (when the password is forgotten) without providing the password by admin.

Thanks & regards,
Ifras

Hello Admin,
Yes, I want specifically for the admin to send password reset emails for existing users - similar to Send login link to alternate email address - so the user can set up a new password when they forgotten.

Users can use the webmail to change/reset the password. No issue there.

Thanks & regards,
Ifras

Unfortunately, there's no available feature that allows WHM administrators to send the password reset link to email users. Currently, those users would have to request a password reset via the Webmail login interface that I mentioned earlier.

If you would like, I would highly recommend submitting a feature request for this using the "Submit a Feature Request" link in my signature.

Our feature request site is actively reviewed and curated by our development team to identify potential future build plans and accept ideas and suggestions from our community. Adding a feature request here will allow the rest of cPanel's users to vote for it if it's something they would like to see implemented as well. While we cannot guarantee that all requests will be accepted, this is the best way to make suggestions visible to the teams that build cPanel.

In the meantime, however, you could use the following API function to request a forced password change on their next login attempt:

WHM API 1 Functions - forcepasswordchange

You can even create a script to make it available in the cPanel interface if the cPanel user wishes to perform this action. More on creating scripts to use functions in the cPanel interface can be found here:

How do I add a script with functions as a button in the cPanel interface?
