passwords and IP addresses

Amazing isn't it :D

How come no-one can tell me in PLAIN english how to password specific pages on my website? - All they ever say is &Use .htpassword& - HOW DO I DO THIS ??!

...and where exactly are the IP addresses of the posters on my guestbook - another mystery question.

Can anyone shed any light on either topic please?

With regard to the IP Addresses - what do you mean? To explain an IP Address - hmm - try this out

but simply it is an identifier. Everyone that connects to the internet has a unique identifier called an IP address. The guestbook I am guessing is recording the IP address of the person who posts a message.

I know what an IP is, but where can I find the addresses of the ppl who posted?

If you mean the &Advanced Guestbook&, you can see their IP or host name from inside the Administration page (go to your guestbook, click on Administration and then on &Easy Admin&amp.

I see no IP addresses when I do that -
...but I do see all the messgaes fomr the guestbook !
