PECL Fileinfo Error

I'm trying to install PECL Fileinfo however am recevieving an error as below and the install fails...

The Fileinfo.so object is not in /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613

Any suggestions on how i can get this to isntall correctly?

Although this post is somewhat old, it is not quite stale, because I ran into the exact same issue and sought cpanel support.

Apparently this will not install successfully via PECL and thus requires manual installation.

When you get to the part where it mentions changing /etc/php.ini you will want to edit /usr/local/lib/php.ini instead.

Hopefully somebody googling for the same issue might find this helpful.

Apparently this looks to be included with php 5.3 from what I've read in my quest for answers.
