Will the cPanel installation on VPS perform the same, worse or better than the cPanel Dedicated server?

Hypothetically, the dedicated server specs would be similar (if not exact) to the KVM VPS specs.
  • 16 gigs of ram
  • Intel Xeon E5-2620 v2 @ 2.10GHz
  • 80G SSD
  • CloudLinux
Just curious, maybe you've ran benchmarks and have been playing around with cPanel long enough to know.

:-D

Hello,

It's unlikely you will notice significant performance differences unless you allocated less RAM/CPU to the VPS. Most of the optimization differences for VPS machines involve changes to configuration settings. In the past, this has included changed to how perl is compiled, reductions to the default number of spamd children, reduction in the number of mailserver authentication daemons, and the utilization of cache files on disk vs memory caches. Please feel free to contact our Customer Service department via cs[@]cpanel.net if you'd like to discuss license-related questions.

Thank you.
