    I have been using the script for several years with no problems. Now the script does not open files for printing. It started right after I ran easyapache.

    CODE:

    open (FILE, "$somefile");
    print <FILE>;
    close FILE;

    I put "or die" after "open (FILE, "$somefile");" and it died so I am pretty sure the problem is with opening files.

    Any ideas?

    Update...

    Okay, the files I want opened are softlinked to another account. The softlinks still work for non perl files. Any idea why perl is no longer allowed to open files linked to other accounts?

    Thanks!

    Check the permissions on your /home/user directories - you probably enabled read file on other account protection (now default) in the last upgrade of apache.
