Hi, I've just bought a dedicated server and in the process of setting up before I transfer my accounts from the old vps.

I'm on cpanel release 11.25 - I keep getting this message, is it anything to worry about?
[checkperlmodules] The perl module DateTime could not be installed.

    Thanks :)

I got that too. Just wondering did you get it from Burst.net?

just reinstall perl and it will solve the problem

Via root SSH access please try the following command to force a re-install of the DateTime Perl module:
    Code:
    # /scripts/perlinstaller --force DateTime
As a cautionary measure I would reserve re-installing Perl to be a last resort if other (smaller) steps do not work. For general reference, our Perl installer is located here: http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/#installers

You can install the DateTime module using two methods.

    1. As suggested above by "cPanelDon" : /scripts/perlinstaller --force DateTime

    2. By downloading the module and installing it manually. Use the following steps:
    cd /usr/local/src
    wget http://search.cpan.org/CPAN/authors/id/D/DR/DROLSKY/DateTime-0.53.tar.gz
    tar -zxf DateTime-0.53.tar.gz
    cd DateTime*
    perl Makefile.pl
    make
    make install

This should install the DateTime module for you.

why every time cPanel / WHM does an update, do we get this error email?

we have both force installed and checked the perl modules installed, and it says we have the latest ver installed.

    buggy update script? something else??

I've also got the same problem as Steve above.

I've tried as suggested by "cPanelDon" : /scripts/perlinstaller --force DateTime
This completed ok, but I'm still getting the original issue

It will help greatly to know the following additional details about the circumstances involved:
1.) Is the error sent via e-mail or is it seen via WHM or SSH access?
2.) What, if any, are the exact steps being used to trigger the message?
3.) Are there any errors seen when attempting to manually install the missing Perl module?

For reference, the following command may be used to perform the install via root SSH access:
    Code:
    # /scripts/perlinstaller --force List::MoreUtils
If the issue persists please consider submitting a support request; when available, please send me a PM referencing this thread and your new ticket ID number so I may follow-up internally.

Regarding the specific error "Can't locate List/MoreUtils.pm in @INC" that is noted in the "Test Run" section of the e-mail, please refer to the following information, detailed below, as quoted from this post; to clarify, it is in reference to the Perl module named List::MoreUtils rather than DateTime:

the error is noted (via email alert) during a WHM/cPanel update..

we ran the /scripts/perlinstaller --force List::MoreUtils cmd you noted and will report back if there is any issues during the next upgrade cycle.. (there was on last night's upgrade, but I didn't yet force list::moreutils yet)

the datetime force install seems to run / install without error.

    stand by for update..
