I see cpanel is upto date with php upgrades but not perl updates?

About 60% of the sites on my server use perl and the latest version on cpanel.net is 5.6.1 when will 5.8 be available?

    root@freedom [/]# perl -v

This is perl, v5.8.0 built for i386-linux-thread-multi

And I have not updated it manualy ? Infact to do so would be suicide with Cpanel

Hum PERL is allways installed updated by Cpanel

Changing, Upgrading PERL to another version will kill Cpanel in most cases?

I dint take much notice of what PERL versionwas running when it had Cpanel 6 on though

If there is trouble, it will find me
So the perl version for cpanel is 5.6 if you're running RH 7.3? One can only get 5.8 if he runs RH 8 or 9? I'm just wondering, because I have RH 7.3 but would still like to have the latest perl version...
