When i log into an account over SSH, it always creates a perl5 folder in ~, but when I remove local::lib, i get an error instead.

I am having this happen as well. I installed Cpanel 11.30 (23) last night. Is there a connection?

I am seeing this same behavior on 11.30 machines but not on 11.28 ones. It was not recreated when I moved /root/perl5 to /root/perl5.bak upon SSH relogin. It was recreated when I ran a forced cPanel update, though.

So upon further update from a developer, the perl5 folder is indeed due to local::lib being used on cPanel 11.30 versions. local::lib is not used on 11.28 and so the perl5 folder does not form on there.

Of note, any user who has shell will have this directory form when doing su into that user.

Thanks for the insight. I just had a long week trying to clean up after a hacked system and then this directory appeared and my heart sunk. I am relieved to learn this development is not just on my machine.
