Hi dahatecatalyst,

Can you share with us how do you fixed this issue? I tried the following command but still the issue persist and the quota for the user is not yet full.

/scripts/upcp --force
/scripts/mailperm

Thanks

I realize this thread is old but more details could have saved me a lot of trouble shooting.

check the permissions under /home/fmwhri/etc

You need to also check the permission _of_ the etc folder, not just "under" (ie. within) the etc folder. That was creating the error for me.

From /home/user directory, enter: chown user etc

I don't know if the "Repair Mailbox permissions" feature was available in WHM back in 2008, but regardless this did nothing for me. I first tried the repair feature in WHM and then restarted Exim and still got same error as reported here.

Glad I finally figured it out!

Edit: My WHM is version 11.28.64

You can use following command as root user for cpanel to fix account level mail related permissions.

# /scripts/mailperm --skiplocaldomains --skipserverperm USER

Where USER is cPanel account username.
