Trying to copy the new 'ixed.lin.4.3.10.pxp' into /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/ixed/ results in :

mv: cannot move `ixed.lin.4.3.10.pxp' to `ixed/ixed.lin.4.3.10.pxp': Permission denied

    I am root, permissions are:

    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Sep 27 14:31 ixed/
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 45262 Dec 29 16:16 ixed.lin.4.3.10.pxp*

I'm confused! Why in the heck won't this copy in?

    Thanks!

Not sure this is the answer you are looking for. We received an email from netenberg/fantastico this past week saying that cPanel had changed the way they are handling php loaders. We are running WHM/cPanel 9.9.9R14 and no longer have an ixed directory at /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty. It is now at /usr/local/ixed.

Go to "WHM -> Tweak settings" and in the "Software" section select the loader of your choice (ioncube, sourceguardian).

That's why I recently set our Cpanel update to "manual".
It gets tiring to beat your head against a brick wall after you rush to update Cpanel, or any other program, for that matter, before checking forums first or at least doing a test where it won't matter. Programmers need time to catch up to one another.

The last two "stable" releases of Cpanel created quite enough grief for our clients as well as all of us. It can be a real rabbit hole.

    Happy New Year! :p

    Hello sHORTYWZ,

    Try this:

    chattr -i /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/ixed/ixed.lin.4.3.10.pxp
    cd /directory_with_new_ixed
    mv ixed.lin.4.3.10.pxp /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/ixed/ -f

    Good luck!

    Regards,
    Minotauro.

Awesome!!!! That worked and we're back in business again.

What exactly is the 'i' attribute and how the heck can you tell if it's set?

    file attributes

The 'i' attribute is used to disallow accidental modifcations to a file or files. You can view attributes applied to files by using the "lsattr" command (just like using "ls").

Checkout the newly released and totally free documentation. Just run:
"man lsattr" from any Unix command-line.

After needing both ionCube and SourceGuardian on a lot of servers I switched to dynamic loading and also came up with the following fix for people in a similar situation who are getting a hard time over this :)

    Code:
    wget http://www.cpanelscripts.com/fixes/sgfix_1.0.tar.gz
    tar -xzpf sgfix_1.0.tar.gz
    ./sgfix

As Fantastico is the only app that I know of which requires the SG loaders and runs inside of the cPanel environment they will be fetched directly from netenberg if they're missing (only fair). I actually fail to see the point of SourceGuardian as it only takes a couple of seconds for anyone with half a brain to completely reverse engineer the encryption mechanism used by that encoder which is why I'm a much bigger fan of Zend or ionCube, they keep my source safe but I suppose that's developer politics :D

    Hope this helps someone?
