php and gd2

Hi there,
would it be possible to have PHP run with the gd2 as opposed to the ordinary gd library?

Yeah, my hosts will not install GD2 because it doesn't work with CPanel - but GD2 is required for many of the projects that I do.

How can they co-exist?

We got it installed see below for read out from phpinfo
--with-gd=../gd-2.0.4

gd
GD Support enabled
GD Version 2.0 or higher
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled


We had no problems installing it and we are running CPanel/WHM 5.3
