I'm curious why easyapache decides to compile php directly into apache instead of as a seperate module?

Also, since I've recompiled apache with easyapache, it seems that "php_value" lines inside .htaccess files cause 500 errors. If I re-enable the php module, it works (But uses the old php module, not the php version that was compiled into apache with easyapache). Any fix to this?

    Thanks,
