Does cpanel use the path in /etc/ for the php.ini or does it draw it from another location?

When i do a locate i get the php.ini from a couple of different locations but not sure which one to edit?

    root@vps [/]# locate php.ini
    /etc/php.ini
    /scripts/php.ini
    /usr/lib/php.ini
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/etc/php.ini
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/lib/php.ini
    /usr/local/lib/php.ini.new
    /usr/local/lib/php.ini
    /var/cpanel/version/php.ini-2

the PHP installed with Apache on a cPanel box uses the php.ini located at /usr/local/lib/php.ini.
