    Hey all,
I seem to be getting on a lot of my PHP scripts the following error:
Notice: Only variable references should be returned by reference in /usr/local/lib/php/Log.php on line 131

    What could be causing this?
I have some really narcy clients at the moment.
It has only been since I had to reformat the server with CENTOS we used to have Fedora core 2...
    Cheers
    Stuart

    Go on, have a guess
IIRC, it's because of php v4.4.1 now displaying an error message when it should do whereas prior to v4 it didn't bother. i.e. it's a coding problem. Check on php.net to be sure.

    Error

    Hi Chirpy,
Thanks heaps for that, it led me down a new road and I found the error. It appears to be a problem with Zend Optimiser and the latest PHP (from what I have found after a few hrs of googling).
Thanks so much dude.. a rollback of PHP did the trick.
