    Does anyone have a pkg.tar.gz file that I can upload to my usr/local/cpanel/PHP-Nuke folder that will allow my users to install the 6.8 version of PHP-Nuke rather than the 6.0 version that came pre-installed with Cpanel?

    PHP-Nuke 6.8 package update script

    I have a script to update PHP Nuke.

    It is similar to my script to update osCommerce.

    Code:
    #!/bin/sh

    # getnuke.sh
    # Al Smith 09-01-2003
    # Update cPanel PHP Nuke pkg.tar.gz file to current version

    Version=PHP-Nuke-6.8.tar.gz                     # Version to fetch
    NukeHome=/usr/local/cpanel/addons/PHP-Nuke # Cpanel addon dir for Nuke
    NukeFile=pkg.tar.gz                             # Cpanel file name
    Source=http://unc.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/phpnuke

    mkdir /tmp/Nuke                                 # Temporary folder
    cd /tmp/Nuke

    wget $Source/$Version # Get the version from sourceforge

    tar zxvf *.gz

    mv *.gz /tmp # move the .gz file out

    tar cvfz $NukeFile * # Create the pkg file

    cp $NukeFile $NukeHome # Copy the pkg to the Nuke Home

    rm -rf /tmp/Nuke # Clean up the mess

    #
    # End
    #

    PHP Nuke 6.8 update

    Found the problem. The pkg.tar.gz needed to upack to a pkg dir. I just tested this code and it installed. Sorry for the problems.

    Code:
    #!/bin/sh

    # getnuke.sh
    # Al Smith 09-01-2003
    # Update cPanel PHP Nuke pkg.tar.gz file to current version

    Version=PHP-Nuke-6.8.tar.gz                     # Version to fetch
    NukeHome=/usr/local/cpanel/addons/PHP-Nuke # Cpanel addon dir for Nuke
    NukeFile=pkg.tar.gz                             # Cpanel file name
    Source=http://unc.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/phpnuke

    mkdir /tmp/Nuke                                 # Temporary folder
    cd /tmp/Nuke

    mkdir pkg                                       # Temporary folder
    cd pkg

    #wget $Source/$Version # Get the version from sourceforge

    tar zxvf *.gz

    mv *.gz /tmp # move the .gz file out

    cd /tmp/Nuke
    tar cvfz $NukeFile pkg # Create the pkg file

    cp $NukeFile $NukeHome # Copy the pkg to the Nuke Home

    rm -rf /tmp/Nuke # Clean up the mess

    #
    # End

    Re: PHP Nuke 6.8 update

    If you want to fresh install i think you must uncomment the wget :

    Code:
    #wget $Source/$Version # Get the version from sourceforge

    to

    Code:
    wget $Source/$Version # Get the version from sourceforge

    I updated this to work with PHP-Nuke 7.2

    I posted a script that updates the php-nuke install pkg to the latest version 7.2 at this time. I tested it on my server, and it successfully installs 7.2 now, but cpanel pages still say 6.8 (to fix next).

    If you tired of all the security vulnerabilities of PHP-Nuke, your PHP-Nuke sites getting hacked, and the heavy mySOL load, do what I did and switch to CPG-Nuke. This is a new fork that has done a MAJOR Overhall of PHP-Nuke and added tons of standard features, some listed below, for the full list see www.cpgnuke.com

    To change the version number that shows in Cpanel simply edit this file:

    /usr/local/cpanel/addons/PHP-Nuke/cpanel-pkg

    current-version:6.8

    Change to :

    current-version:7.2

    Version in CPanel

    Thanks, that's good to know.

    I actually use Fantastico now so I haven't messed with this in a while.
    Glad to know though!
