Anybody set php up to run as the UID/GID? Some clients try to use php write commands and they get permissions denied. Usually a quick fix for this is to have them write into a seperate dir and have that dir owned by nobody. This of course isnt very safe.

    Shaun,

As thigs currently exist, there is no way to do this without having your server run PHP scripts as CGI, in which case they could be run through suEXEC. The obvious problem there is that if PHP is run as a CGI instead of an Apache module, there is going to be increased overhead for each PHP script call, and performance will not be as good as that of mod_php.
