PHP Timezone Databases

I was installing LiteSpeed on a cPanel server and got the following message.

Some pre-built EasyApache PHP installations may be missing the timezoneDB extension. This will severely impact PHP performance

There is a link/script to fix this in LiteSpeed but this got me to thinking about just a regular cPanel/Apache setup.

Would adding these extensions also help a regular Apache/cPanel server?

As far as I know cPanel doesn't relay on or utilise timezoneDB at all however if it's installed it won't hurt either

It doesn't hurt, no and you can install it though WHM>>Software>>Module Installers -> PHP PECL Installer
