    PHP newsletter mail sending problem

Can not sent emails to Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc through PHP newsletter.

I have installed "PHPlist" through Fantastico.

Mail seems to send (no error message and PHPlist reports it was sent successfully) but recipients never get it and it doesn't show up in statistics.

But it works fine when i sent a mail to the same domain (like email@mydomain.com) where i installed the PHPlist.

If you type a gmail/yahoo email in the subscription, then you will not get any mails even confirmation mail.

I have tried many PHP newsletter scripts but i can not sent emails to Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. It works only with the same domain (like email@mydomain.com)

Is there anything to do with settings from the control panel.

    Please help me

    Hi,

    Can you please check the

"Prevent the user "nobody" from sending out mail to remote addresses (PHP and CGI scripts generally run as nobody if you are not using PHPSuexec and Suexec respectively.)"

under the tweak settings of your whm. If this is checked with a tick, uncheck it and try. Or try to trace the issue from the maillog.

That is a security setting, and as per the wording, one should have PHPSuexec and Suexec installed for those kinds of scripts to work properly. So, how does one get PHPSuexec and Suexec to work with scripts installed by Fantastico?

SuPHP (phpSuExec is no longer supported) can be thought of as working on the level of the language interpreter. As a result, all but the most poorly written of scripts should work in a SuPHP environment. The most you may need to do is remove global and group write permissions from scripts with such permissions.

I've not used phplist, but on my server with various security options enables, I had the same issue sending to gmail etc. I had to add the option "-r validname@domain.com" on the end of the php mail command (5th paramater) e.g. mail(To,Subject,Content,From,"-r from"). I also had to set this up on my Invision board, and it's just an admin option on that one. Hope it helps...
