I get the error on phpmyadmin like root: L'estensione mysqli è mancante. Controlla la tua configurazione di PHP.
in english is: mysqli extension missing , Check your php configuration

I tried with easyapache and Enabled Mysqli:

    root@vps3g [~]# /usr/local/bin/php -m | grep -i mysql
    mysql
    mysqli

now mysqli is installed, I checked also with phpinfo(); but I have always the same error.

I solved, I set "localhost" in WHM -> Remote mysql access host and run this : /usr/local/cpanel/bin/updatephpmyadmin --force
