    Hi,

Since the autoupgrade to the latest "STABLE" release of WHM last night, all of my domains are getting this error from phpMyAdmin:

    cannot load MySQL extension,
    please check PHP Configuration

MySQL still works on every account that uses it - but none of the accounts can log into PHPMyAdmin.

    Help! :O

No, but we are having mysql issues on one server after the upgrade. Another server does not have them though. Already submitted a ticket.

    PHP Admin

I'm having problems with admin too. Installed a PHP forum which supposedly installed correctly, then got all kinds of error messages when I tried to access the admin for it.

I am getting this very weird problem on the Redhat 9 version. It goes like this:

Warning: main(./libraries/grab_globals.lib.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/index.php on line 9 PHP Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './libraries/grab_globals.lib.php' (include_path='./:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/index.php on line 9 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './libraries/grab_globals.lib.php' (include_path='./:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/index.php on line 9

And I checked and everything is in right place. So any suggestions on fixing this problem?

After the latest update 7.4.2 S117. I get the error
You are using PHP 4.2.3, which has a serious bug with multi-byte strings (mbstring). See PHP bug report 19404. This version of PHP is not recommended for use with phpMyAdmin.

    I upgraded to 4.3.3 - it still doesn't work.

Nice try on the Cpanel people's part, though.

I am also having some serious issues with phpmyadmin that I didn't have before. I don't know if it's related, but here are my symptoms:

Once a user goes into cpanel and clicks on mysql icon and phpmyadmin icon. All of the password setting for all databases in that domain gets wiped out. I then go to WHM and do a "Change a User or Database Password", and it all works fine again. This will happen however once I login to cpanel and repeat the process of launching phpmyadmin.

What goes here? I am thinking this could be happening to more than just this site and could be happening to my other client sites, but just haven't added 2 and 2 together. This is a very strange bug I am facing.

Sure, upgrade PHP to 4.3.3. PHP 4.3.2 has a number of flaws which leaves your web server open to attack.

With 3 different versions of RedHat being used, would be nice if the OS version is mentioned. I know I use: WHM 8.2.0 cPanel 8.2.0-E3 RedHat 7.3 and do not have the problems mentioned.

I would suggest you upgrade to v8.x of WHM and see what happens. If no go, upgrade to Edge and even if you don't want to use Edge you can switch to Stable or Release.

I have found 8.x to be very stable and I only use Edge as I have found less problems with it.

How can we tell what the actual latest stable release is without upgrading?

It doesn't seem to be listed on the web site AFAICT.
