phpMyAdmin Wrong username/password. Access denied.

When any of my users visits phpMyAdmin it gives this error:

Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.5.6-rc1

Wrong username/password. Access denied.

We're using the x and x2 skins.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

I put a ticket in but, I didn't get a reply.

I've got 8.8.0-EDGE_121 on the box now but, I've tried all trees.

Its updated to today also.
