ping: unknown host

    Hello,
    when i type in ssh
    root@sserver [/]# ping google.com
    ping: unknown host google.com

    only pinging IP addres.
    root@server [/]# ping 64.233.187.99
    PING 64.233.187.99 (64.233.187.99) 56(84) bytes of data.
    64 bytes from 64.233.187.99: icmp_seq=0 ttl=241 time=154 ms

    how can i fix ?

    I would first check that your /etc/resolv.conf file is setup correctly
    and that you do have valid DNS server IPs in that file.

    You should also check to see if the DNS service on your server
    is still running "/etc/rc.d/init.d/named restart"

    Make sure from /etc/resolv.conf and verify with your Datacenter or your Server ISP with correct DNS

    and you need also to restart your network after saving for effect if you are linux try

    Code:
    /etc/init.d/network restart
    if this command fail try to reboot the server better easily :)
