My /var partition is small and i dont want to re partition it.

    I know i can symlink /var/lib/mysql to a directory in /home

    but the question are:

    1. will it work?
    2. will cpanel backup the mysql directory in /home? I am using the "backup" feature in cPanel and I back up the entire account and mysql directory to a remote FTP server. If I symlink /var/lib/mysql to say /home/mysql will the backup feature of cpanel properly backup the mysql data?

I hope cPanel guys can help me. Thank you
