    Greetings Everyone:

I have searched extensively, and have tried every single suggestion in all threads with no luck. Webmail works, but I cannot receive email, I can however, send email. Now, it accepts emails coming from the same email address (if I send an email to myself).

I have ran every repair script from root in ssh. I have restarted the box many times, restarted services, from with in WHM with no luck. The domain works fine, the website works fine, but I cannot receive email.

Here are the errors that come back in the bounces.

When I go to DNSStuff.com I get this report

    Also this

I also get the "lame servers fail" and "All nameservers report identical NS records"

Please help, i'm at my wits end. I switched from H-SPHERE and although i'm not a cpanel expert, I have some general knowledge.

    Thanks!

    Looks like a DNS issue.

in WHM >> DNS Functions >> Edit DNS Zone
There will be an "MX" record for "yourdomain.com"
There should also be an "A" record for "mail" with an IP address, but I think you'll find that this is missing. Add the DNS entry, and your issue should then be fixed.

If you still have issues, paste the contents of your /var/named/DOMAIN.com.db file here so we can check it.

    It should look something like:

(The "mail" and "www" records can have an "A" record instead of a "CNAME" - if you decide to do this, then make sure you replace the "240sxforums.com." part with an IP address, just like the ftp record.)

Not too sure what all the other stuff is in the .db file, but I don't think its supposed to be there. i.e.:
once you've made the changes, go into WHM >> DNS Functions >> Edit DNS Zone
Open up the zone to make sure the changes are there, then "Save" to let WHM update the version number so changes are replicated to the nameservers.

I did what you suggested, and I get this error now..I've restarted the servers, and saved changes as you suggested.

I changed the email addy for obvious reasons..

dnsreport shows you've got a lame nameserver... its also showing that your mx record is still mail.DOMAIN.com

The issue is with your nameservers not updating with the latest DNS entries: the serial of your DNS record is 2006120600, which means the DNS record being presented was last updated 6th Dec 2006.

Try WHM >> DNS Functions >> Synchronize DNS Records >> Sync All

I'm moving from shared to vps and had similar issues with email. The problem I had was the reverse DNS issue. I submitted a ticket to my hosting support and they set the reverse DNS up and everything started working. I tried to locate some way to set reverse DNS myself but all the support forums I went to said I had to get the NOC to do it.
