please help -- Too many connections [1040]

    my forum phbBB 3.0.9
    i purchase vps for this forum but some time have error
    500-internal server error

    so i move dicated server . with 8GB ram

    but in server have face error

    General Error

    SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

    Too many connections [1040]

    An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.


    please help me how i fix this issue

    It looks like you have exceeded the mysql connection limits setup in your /etc/my.cnf. Can you paste your /etc/my.cnf file here? also what is the size of your ram?

    Also make sure that persistent mysql connection is disabled in your php.ini file.
