Ok, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this but here it is

I've been long time basic account user with my host and Just upgraded to a VPS account, they said oh you have the choice of Cpanel or Plesk and I mistakenly said well I'll try something new and chose Plesk for my VPS account.

for anyone out there BIG MISTAKE!
    1. Plesk actually does not work basic things like
AwStats doesn't work at all and what I've been reading even when it does work it's still broken, no dynamics stats can only be viewed for the current month.
    2. Plesk to operate must have open_basedirectory on, which would be ok if you could turn it off for your httpdocs directory, this is hit and miss and depends on the server, installation but in my case basic features like including vhost.conf file to turn off openbase doesn't work either.
    3. The file editor and file uploading does not work properly with php, either the file does not get fully overwriten or the editor ads spaces or extra chars to the end of the file.

Now to my question, I know finally...lol

Can Cpanel replace Plesk after Plesk has been installed without taking the website/host/server down, other than maybe a reboot on a vps account.

Does Cpanel provide instructions for totally removing plesk for replacement with cpanel for the hosts.

I have 4-5 domains that are actually hosted under my one IP for my VPS server does cpanel handle this sort of thing, because when we were talking with the host they said will cpanel doesn't support mulitiple domains under one VPS account like plesk does....basically I think now it was a ploy to get 10 bucks more a month from me.

Please let me know I need to come back to Cpanel!!!! help

Unfortunately, cPanel/WHM must be installed on a freshly installed supported distribution of Linux or FreeBSD. It cannot be installed on any existing production server, including servers running any control panel.

Generally Plesk to cPanel/WHM transfers are performed by having both servers online simultaneously then using the transfer functionality of WHM to migrate the accounts from Plesk.

cPanel/WHM on a VPS is just like a dedicated server: you can have as many domains/users as you desire. However, as VPSs tend to have fewer hardware resources at their disposal, the practical number of domains/users you can host is less than you could host on a dedicated server - but should typically be significantly more than 1 user/domain.
