Yes, this is new functionality. The purpose of this is to reduce (nearly eliminate) downtime when transferring accounts among cPanel/WHM servers. This way someone visiting that user's domain doesn't get the copy on the old server. Instead, they are directed to the new server hosting that website.

I noticed this today - useful feature. However, HOW does it do the redirect?

It changes the IP in the DNS on the old server to the IP for the new server. So when DNS requests go to the old server... they now see the new IP.

The only "gotcha" is that the Time To Live (TTL) value could be for 4 hours or more, so there is still probably a period of time when DNS servers around the world will have "cached' the old dns and IP values...

But I agree it's a good feature for cpanel to implement and reduces one step we always take when transferring an account.

    Thanks!

Yes, it will setup the old server as a backup mx server for the new one and forward all incoming mail to the new server

The only issue I see with this is that the configuration we have probably won't allow for this.

We have three Alabanza servers, the DNS for all three are on one machine.

    Donor not Doner!

Why isn't this option available in the copy multiple sites?

so the way I see it, you can do the transfer with this option enabled, and then change the nameserver IPs.

In theory 4 hours later the websites and email will truly be served by the new server and then 24-48 hours later the nameserver changes will have occured and the old server can be removed?

No downtime during the 4 hours other than websites can be served by either server?

    hello Nick

Thank you for your fast reply :)
I am having Both servers upgraded to 11.23+
but when i click on the Copy multiple accounts/packages from another server
I enter the server IP then the server root password > Fetch account list.

there is nothing showing this option there.

Sorry for the confusion, the name got changed pretty early on in the release process (but not soon enough).
