    Hi,

    I have the latest stable cpanel/whm running on centos 5.5 and I am not able to login via POP.

    IMAP works fine:
    root@host [~]# telnet localhost 143
    Trying 127.0.0.1...
    Connected to localhost (127.0.0.1).
    Escape character is '^]'.
    * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 UIDPLUS CHILDREN NAMESPACE THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT THREAD=REFERENCES SORT QUOTA IDLE ACL ACL2=UNION STARTTLS] Courier-IMAP ready. Copyright 1998-2008 Double Precision, Inc. See COPYING for distribution information.
    01 LOGIN test2+SOMEDOMAIN.COM qa1ws2ed3
    01 OK LOGIN Ok.
    ^]
    telnet> Connection closed.

    POP does not:
    root@host [~]# telnet localhost 110
    Trying 127.0.0.1...
    Connected to localhost (127.0.0.1).
    Escape character is '^]'.
    +OK Hello there.
    user "test2+DOMEDOMAIN.COM"
    +OK Password required.
    pass "qa1ws2ed3"
    -ERR Login failed.

    I enabled verbose logging for courier-authlib and this is what I get in the maillog when trying the POP login:
    pop3d: Connection, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1]
    authdaemond: received auth request, service=pop3, authtype=login
    authdaemond: authpipe: trying this module
    authdaemond: reusing pipe, with in: 8 out: 7
    pop3d: LOGIN FAILED, user="test2+SOMEDOMAIN.COM", ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1]
    authdaemond: authpipe: REJECT - try next module
    authdaemond: FAIL, all modules rejected
    pop3d: Disconnected, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1]

    Initially the hostname of the server was set to the same domain I am having issues with and from my experience it causes problems. I changed the hostname to something else and ran /scripts/upcp --force but it did not help. Am I missing something? Other domains from this server can POP/IMAP fine.

    Are there any other config files I need to rebuild after changing the hostname?

    Please help

    Thanks

    I fixed this by switching to dovecot and then switching back to courier.
