pop password problems

When creating new pop accounts it seems that not all characters are acceptable. Anyone have an ETA when this will be fixed?

The only solution right now is to use weak passwords. Any account that gets created with a strong password has to be deleted and then re-created using a weak password. And we all know that weak passwords lead to account compromise and eventually the account becomes a spam/virus vector.

what build are you running? and what characters seem to give you trouble?

Since you asked what characters I guess that means there are some that are known to cause trouble. Which ones are those? <>,.)(*&^%$#@!? seem to be implicated from simple testing. Is this a known issue with some builds?

Not sure what build yet.

The build is 10.9.0-RELEASE_9808

Do you know if the problem is fixed in a newer build?
I couldn't figure out how to search all the changelogs since that build until the latest builds.
