    Hi Guys and Gals,

I have a new client that has asked the following question:

    #######################################
I've begun setting up our email accounts manually. I've noticed that
    mail.xxxxxxx.com works, but pop.xxxxxxxx.com and
smtp.xxxxxxx.com do not. As all our clients are set up using
pop and smtp, is it possible to somehow set it up (perhaps in the MX
record) to use pop and smtp instead of mail?
    #######################################

All my current clients are using mail.domain.com with no problems, the new client is using pop.domain.com and smtp.domain.com on the current server.

So my question is, is it possible to set it up the way he wants, as I have never had a request to alter mail.domain.com I am not sure if it is possible.

Sure, it's possible. You can do it in the Edit DNS section of WHM.

    :) Thanks casey,
lol I guessed that, I was just not sure if I should use an A, cname or mx entry so I just tried them all one at a time on a test account and found that the A entry was the way to go.

    Thanks anyway.

Oh, well, it's a good thing you tried, anyway, because I would have thought it would be a cname like "mail". Glad you got it working.:)
