I need to setup a client which never had a cPanel account and would like to know if I can use POP & SMTP cname for their mail instead of MAIL?

They have about 300 desktops that they would need to modify the entries and I am trying to save them the trouble.

    Thanks,
    Alex

sure, just add them as subdomains in the DNS.

    Just to clarify,

Remove "mail" CNAME and add them as subdomains via cPanel "Subdomain" feature?

If configuring it in outlook, would the username still be user+domain.com or would it revert to just username?

    Thanks for the help,
    Alex
