POP3 email configuration with Apple profiles

Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible to use Apple profiles for configuring
email accounts in Mac desktops using POP3 protocol instead of IMAP

While I don't use Apple profiles, I think this should be possible. Does it allow you to input your own settings manually?
