    Hi Everyone,

It's great to be here on cPanel Forums. I'm sure many of you started off much in the same fashion as I did, but won't get into all the details here. My long term plan is to consolidate a number of hosting accounts onto my own web server, and eventually sell cpanel hosting.

Currently have a dedicated IP addresses and a VM BOX with cPanel installed. But is it necessaru to open/forward all ports as described in the documentation? Currently the private IP resolves back to my routing device. I located some other doc's which stated that only a couple of ports need to be forwarded?

    cPanelMike,

Thanks. At the very least, shouldn't opening FTP in/out for 20 and 21 suffice to at the very least allow for FTP, if anything else?
