I've been recieving some very odd complaints lately.

    1. A webmaster of a website I host said the server is sending him emails stating that a large number of emails is outgoing from an email address residing on the server with viruses attached to them.

    2. One person has a heavy system of security auditing on their machine, and they claim that every time they visit a website on my server, their computer gets port scanned repeatedly.

    3. Several people on my server cannot send outgoing email, but can still recieve email.

    4. Running a trojan scan comes up with "7 possible trojans"

Is there any way I can run some script that will look into the security of the server?

    Thanks,

    ~Weed

    Hi,

    Please look into these steps:

(1)Try to install a virus scanner like ClamAV and Mailscanner.
    (2) Make your firewall settings strong
    (3) Check whether your SMTP port is open.
Telnet your-domain.com 25 and check for any errors
    (4) Try chkrootkit tools.

    All the best

    Regards,

    Bright:)
