    hi,

i updated apache and installed some new modules on it...
when the update finished, this process started:

postsuexecinstall - searching for suexec problems (1600 min remain)

i'd like to know if i can reboot my server when this script is running and if after a reboot it starts by itself again. sumarizing: if i reboot the server when it is running, can i get some problem?

    thank you all.

I believe the purpose of the postsuexecinstall is to watch the suexec_log and then fix file and directory permission errors on the fly. It is very useful if you have just enabled PhpSuexec for the very first time, and some file permissions may still be wrong. However, if you have been using PhpSuexec for a while, all the file and directory permissions should already be OK.

So, if this is not the first time you activate PhpSuexec, I think it will be safe to reboot before postsuexecinstall completes.

We've just had a server OS rebuild & backup restore - we then rebuilt apache with appropriate modules etc - PHPSuExec was not enabled but in shell we still see postsuexecinstall running.

Is this not just for those who have installed/compiled with the PHPSuExec option

    Thanks in advance

    Chae
