Prevent copy of account to another server

Hello,

Sometimes clients continue to use hosting service without renewing them. When we ask them for payment they move the account to another cpanel based hosting company. They have the ftp user id / password so they can move it to another company by using "Copy an Account From Another Server With an Account Password"

Is there any way we can prevent an account to be moved to another server even if the client has ftp id / password?

Yes there is, you just suspend the account.

Assuming you have your users pay in advance of the coming month, or year etc, for their account, if they don't pay and want to move, why would you want to block them from doing so, just to get them to renew?

If I didn't like your hosting services, didn't want to renew, moving to a new host is my next move.

I think sending them an email stating that the account would need to be renewed, might be suspended or even terminated if renewal payment is not made, is the expected thing to do. IMHO, should have even been mentioned in the original agreement when they first signed on with you.

Changing the password will keep them from doing anything with the account, you bet.

Some times client say they are going to pay, so we want their account to be live. But then they move the account somewhere without telling you and paying you

Any way we can change permissions of some folder or file or any other way so they cannot movo the the account but do normal operation like accessing emails and making changes the website?
