Well, I'm running Cpanel 4.9 on a Redhat 7.3
But... I dont understand it at all... I mean, the way resellers are managed it's kinda... odd dunno.

1) How to setup a reseller IP with it's own IP... and that all Vhosts of this resellers goes to the reseller IP? (Ej. server has #.100 to #.110 ... normal cpanel is on #.100 ... but suppose one reseller is on #.105 .... why the accounts are created on #.100 ?? Please... I need this working :)

2) I have a big reseller (about... 1/3 of server) ... wanting to have their OWN apache configs & server ... possible that works with same cpanel ?? ... other cpanel on same server?? dunno...

3) About SSH access ... I just give ssh to BIG accounts or resellers... but... how the hell are they able to seee allllll the server?? ... it's possible to CHROOT the ssh users or some???
I know I can chmod 711 some things... but... a clean way? ... can anyone tell me if it's possible to chroot a user like in (ensim/ples) .. I know it takes space on disk... but it's only for big accounts... please, this is needed ... dont you think ??

Thanks for your HELP
Regards.

Please... anyone?
at least someone tell me how to setup a IP for a reseller ... so I can make it totally private (not just NS's, but all the vhosts that the reseller create on this IP too... how?)

Thanks

1. All shared accounts created on the server will be placed on the default server IP.

2. They can configure a lot of things using .htaccess, but I don't think they can run a separate conf file and still use WHM/CPanel.

3. We don't give out SSH access to any users. They can manage everything from FTP and CPanel (or WHM).

Create an account with an empty index.html in the root dir, then edit httpd.conf and add the following line to that virtualhost..

ServerAlias 123.123.123.100

Replace 123.123.123.100 with your server's default IP. Now if someone goes to 123.123.123.100 they will get a blank page and therefore, people won't know that they are a reseller.

thanks for your reply ...
but tell me if the following can be done ...

1) The server have .130 .131 & 132 IP's for the main hosting company, right?

2) I have 2 private resellers, and want one in .133 and the other on .134

ns.resellerone.com --& .133
ns.resellertwo.com --& .134

Then... I want that .133 be the SHARED IP of ALL vhosts of RESELLER ONE, and that .134 be the Shared IP of the reseller TWO.
So... my VHOSTS, the reseller ONE Vhosts and the reseller TWO Vhosts are ALL on diferent IP addresses ...

Isn't this possible ??
Isn't there a way to asing a IP to a RESELLER ... NOT to a Vhost? so the reseller creates Vhosts on this IP.

Please Help!!!
oh.... I know I can do it by manually changing httpd.conf for EVERY vhost that the reseller creates (changing the default that cpanel put (.130) to the reseller IP (.133 or .134 or .NNN) ...
There is any way to do this Automated? (I mean, resellers creating the accounts directly on .133 or .134 as shared vhosts)

Regards.

As I mentioned earlier.. All acounts that use shared IP, will be placed on the server's default IP. You can not set it to create a reseller's accounts on a different IP. I think this feature has been requested, but not added yet.

oh...
so... is practically impossible to make a private reseller account with CPANEL/WHM ...
cause ALL resellers of the same server will use the same shared IP for all the accounts... (sorry but... this really sux)

now I have to say my reseller &sorry, you can have a dedicated IP, but you can't use it ...& dunno... :(

You can do this but you need to rewrute some the the base cpanel scripts. I know of one and only one company who has done this. Looking at how I &think& whm does this I am betting it can be done.

1) Modify Cpanel scripts or develop external modification scripts

2) There is an easier way register an anonymous domain (I mean a domain that does not redirect to your Hosting business or commercial background) then assign it to your servers

It is recommended to use both of these methods at the same time, also please consider that your modifications to the Cpanel scripts will be overwritten by its updates, you could use a cron job to handle such a thing and ....
