    Problem installating Wildcard from StartSSL

    Hello all!!

I've requested à Wild card from StartSSL (https://www.startssl.com/). This wild card is delivered for *.example.com.

So, i h'ave my .CRT, .KEY and CABUNDLE

On cPanel, under SSL/TLS Manager > Activate SSL on Your Web Site (HTTPS), i've pasted the content of my 3 files there, but i must chose a domain for the certificate. So, my choice is "example.com", because i can't chose (*).example.com.

The certificate installs without problem, but only www.example.com is SSL protected and if i request "https://subdomain.example.com", I'm automatically redirected to "http://www.example.com" (without "s").

Only "https://www.example.com" works and even https://example.com is reditected to ""http://www.example.com" (without "s").

And i don't know what to do to make my wild card works... :(

    Thanks.

You would need to create a wildcard subdomain on that account that has the main domain in the subdomain area, then install the SSL onto the wildcard subdomain itself. After that, each additional SSL for each subdomain must be manually configured. I have a discussion on configuring a wildcard SSL when it was using the main IP:

    http://forums.cpanel.net/f34/ssl-ce...across-different-hosts-169030.html#post701022

This is similar to what you would need to do, but you appear to have a dedicated IP for the domain, so you'd simply copy the existing wildcard SSL domain at /var/cpanel/userdata/username/*.domain.com_SSL to each subdomain at /var/cpanel/userdata/username/sub.domain.com_SSL and then change the paths and domain name as indicated. Please note that username would be the cPanel username and domain.com would be the domain name.

    Ok thanks for your answer.

I'm trying to solve this with .htaccess files.

So, my IANA — Example domains domain points to:

    Code:
    /home/username/public_html/www.domain.com
    and my subdomain points to:

    Code:
    /home/username/public_html/subdomain.domain.com
I've found this rule, but i don't know how to rewrite it to fit my needs:

    Code:
    RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} ^443$
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^sub\.domain\.com$ [NC]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/subdomains/sub/
    RewriteRule ^(.*) /subdomains/sub/$1
    Can someone helps me?
    Thanks. :)
