Problem connnecting to nameserver after installing APF firewall

dns1 xx.xx.xx.10 root Unable to connect to xx.xx.xx.10 Requires version 8.9 or later

I have port 2087 allowed ingress and egress.

If I stop apf it connects to the nameserver.

How can I get the nameserver to work with APF?

you'll need port 53 TCP and UDP allowed for incoming connections in the firewall. You may be able to get away with just port 53 UDP allowed for egress... but if it doesn't work allow tcp outgoing too.

I have 53 open, both UDP and TCP and ingress and egress.

    Any tips?

Im having the same issues with my clustering between 2 servers.

Both have apf and are both configured identically, both have 2087 and 53 open in inbound and outbound TCP and UDP

    one works the other doesnt.

    anyone have any suggestions?
