i just got around cpanel and i cant't seem to find anywhere how to make my index.html page load as a homepage automatically when you visit my domain like when you visit www.example.com i want it to go straight to www.example.com/index.html. All i get is something like an ftp index of the page.

For a page to be displayed on your website, it must be in public_html. So your index file should be in public_html/ instead of / when accessing your account via FTP or cPanel's File Manager.
